Colliding worlds

wheninthai

Been tied down to work, the mundane, the city. Sometimes I wish for the simple life. Missing the taste of eggs and soy sauce in Lao, and drinking syrup pop out of bags with my brothers in Bangkok. I don’t know what Thailand is like now. It’s been 16 years since I visited my homeland. When you’re unable to travel, watch movies.

Fear of ______

fear1

fear3

A child has no concept of fear until he understands emotions. Fear is trust saying “caution”. Physical pain from a bee sting is a child’s idea of fear. Dive deeper into love and relationships for a teenager will learn social fear; Money, status, goals – the fear an adult has is based around merit; Then you hit midlife (or if you’re unlucky in early adulthood) your health becomes a worry and you fear death. Inevitably the “block” grows with each aversive event, preventing us from living. Now we define fear as demons from the past and we become stagnant. So how do we escape?

We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when adult are afraid of the light – Plato.
